Just in time for Xmas a new adaptation of the old Charles Dickens favourite Oliver Twist recently aired on BBC One in the UK. With the main character being a young boy it is always exciting to see his performance in each new production. This time round Oliver is played by newcomer William Miller who beat over 700 other boys to land the role. William’s only previous acting credit is a part in the 2006 TV docu-drama about the 1883 eruption of the Krakatoa volcano called Krakatoa: The Last Days. Interestingly, this 2006 TV movie was directed by William’s father, Sam Miller and also starred his mother, Janine Wood.
William was born in 1996 in London, England and like many English boys is very keen on football. He currently plays for Leyton Orient’s under-12 team but his talents aren’t just restricted to acting because he has already been scouted for the Tottenham Hotspur football team. This presents quite a dilemma career wise - should he pursue acting or follow the football path? This is a decision he has not yet made.
